Lahore Qalandars’ title defence in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) came to an abrupt end after Hyderabad Kingsmen secured a dominant 108-run victory over RawalPindiz in a decisive group-stage clash at the National Stadium, Karachi.
The result pushed Kingsmen to 10 points from 10 matches and confirmed their qualification for the playoffs on net run rate, edging out Lahore despite both teams finishing level on points. Lahore had briefly kept their hopes alive after a strong win over Peshawar Zalmi in their previous outing, but their fate ultimately depended on Hyderabad failing to secure a big-margin victory in their final fixture.
Batting first, Hyderabad Kingsmen produced a commanding total of 244/6, taking control of both the match and the qualification scenario. Glenn Maxwell played a key role with a powerful 70 off 37 deliveries, while Kusal Perera remained unbeaten on 54. Usman Khan also contributed a quick 50, helping Hyderabad post one of the highest totals of the season.
Their aggressive batting performance set a challenging target, but qualification still depended on their bowling unit restricting RawalPindiz to a low score.
Hyderabad’s bowlers delivered under pressure, dismantling RawalPindiz for just 136 and sealing a comprehensive win. The 108-run margin not only ensured victory but also secured Kingsmen’s place in the playoffs, officially ending Lahore Qalandars’ campaign.
Hyderabad Kingsmen will now move into Eliminator 1, scheduled at Gaddafi Stadium on April 29, where they will face the loser of the final league-stage match between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans.
