Hydropower Units Initiated in Bajaur
Two micro-hydropower plants built by the Pakistani military have opened recently. Additional Assistant Commissioner (Planning and Finance) Sohil Aziz and Army and Border Patrol officials inaugurated units in Bajaur tehsil’s Lara Mukha and Bara Mukha areas in separate receptions.

Speaking at one such reception, Sohil Aziz said the small power plants would ensure uninterrupted power supply to hundreds of homes in the area. He said the two power plants are the first such projects in the region’s power sector.
Officials said the Pak Army and the Border Guard Corps also plan to build small power plants in other areas of Mamond. The tribal elders thank the Pak Army, the Border Corps and the Bajaur Scouts for building micro-hydroelectric plants in their area.
