IESO Restores Power Supply to CDA After Two Days
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) offices’ power supply was continuously cut off for two days by the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) due to unpaid invoices for lighting and the Parliament Lodges.
A senior CDA officer, however, claimed that Iesco had returned the power supply when the dues were paid.

Earlier, Raja Asim, an Iesco official, said that the company had halted CDA’s power service owing to unpaid invoices, mostly for streetlights. He said that millions of rupees were owed to the civic organisation and that Iesco had shut off electricity to the main CDA headquarters rather than suspending power to streetlights.
Iesco and CDA have been at odds over charging for streetlights for a long time since the firm bills CDA based on the number of lights, not through a metering system. While CDA regularly complains about overcharging since there is no metering system, Iesco generates inflated invoices based on assumptions.

The sources claimed that the chairman refused to let them and promised to bring up the matter with Iesco management and the federal government in order to find a cooperative solution.
