Initiatives to Improve Connectivity for Karachi’s Fishers
According to press reports, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has declared that the people and fishing community of the Baba and Bhit islands and Mubarak Village will receive three floating jetties with passenger sheds before the end of the year.

The 250 million Pakistani Rupees project would improve the lives of island residents by enhancing connectivity to the principal metropolitan area. The local government, under the direction of Local Government Minister Nasir Shah, will construct bridges projects.
Similarly, the CM of Sindh granted 600 million Pakistani Rupees for sewage drainage, water supply, and brick roads on the twin islands of Shams Pir and Saulehabad. The chief minister also informed the residents of the fishing community that the Board of Revenue would extend the expiring leases for their communities.

Moreover, he ordered Karachi Commissioner Naveed Shaikh to establish a vaccination center for the fishermen who reside on these isolated islands.
