Iran’s embassy in Tajikistan has shared a viral AI-edited video that appears to show Jesus Christ attacking former US President Donald Trump, escalating an ongoing social media controversy involving politically charged AI-generated content.

The clip was posted shortly after Trump shared an AI-generated image on Truth Social in which he appeared in religious attire, seemingly healing a sick man in a depiction inspired by Jesus Christ. The post triggered backlash from Christian groups, conservative commentators, and religious figures, who called it inappropriate and offensive.

The Iranian embassy’s version of the content reversed the narrative, portraying an angry Jesus striking Trump, turning the online dispute into a wider political and diplomatic flashpoint. The video quickly went viral, with multiple Iranian diplomatic accounts reportedly engaging in similar satirical posts.

The embassy in South Africa also reshared Trump’s original AI image with mocking captions, adding to the growing online backlash.

Following the controversy, Trump reportedly deleted the original post, stating that it had been misunderstood and claiming it was intended to depict him as a doctor rather than a religious figure.
