Islamabad Expressway Phase-1 Expansion Work to Be Started
Islamabad: According to news reports, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) decided through a government corporation to immediately begin work on the development of Islamabad Expressway Phase I.

The Islamabad Expressway would be extended two kilometers from Korang Bridge to G.T. Road, according to the sources. From Korang Bridge to the PWD Interchange, Phase I will span two kilometers.
Due to the expansion of housing communities, traffic on this major thoroughfare has surged, making it one of the busiest highways in the city. According to CDA authorities, because the segment was enlarged from two to four lanes, half of the expressway’s problems would be resolved. The CDA board is committed to awarding the highway contract in accordance with Rule 42 of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules. It will assist in resolving issues encountered by commuters on the Koral-Rawat expressway segment.

Additionally, the CDA official indicated that the interchange project is complete and open to the public. According to the CDA, the engineering wing agency has allocated 2 billion Pakistani rupees for the project. They will construct a two-kilometer section on their own, while the other seven kilometers up to G.T. Road will be funded by the federal government through the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).
