The Capital Development Authority has launched a major crackdown in Zone 4 of Islamabad, sealing offices of unauthorized housing schemes following repeated violations and public complaints.
Enforcement teams targeted several illegal projects, including Shaheen Town Islamabad and Islamabad Green Paradise, shutting down their site offices and marketing centers. Authorities said these offices were being used for plot sales, promotions, and administrative activities without official approval.
The operation was carried out under provisions of the Capital Development Authority Ordinance, 1960, along with relevant ICT zoning regulations. Officials cited multiple violations, including the sale and purchase of plots without obtaining mandatory No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
Authorities have repeatedly warned the public to avoid investing in unapproved housing schemes and to verify a project’s legal status before making any financial commitments. Despite these warnings, officials say illegal societies continue to attract buyers through misleading marketing practices.
As part of the action, relevant departments have been directed to suspend electricity and gas connections to such projects. A ban has also been imposed on the sale, purchase, and transfer of plots and properties within these unauthorized schemes.
The CDA has urged citizens to invest only in approved housing projects and has published updated lists of legal and illegal schemes on its official website to help prevent fraud. Media outlets have also been instructed not to advertise or promote unapproved societies.
Officials say the crackdown is part of a wider effort to curb fraudulent real estate practices and ensure compliance with urban planning laws in the federal capital.
