The Islamabad district administration has announced fixed entry fees for cattle markets ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, setting rates at Rs 4,000 for large animals and Rs 3,000 for small animals.

According to officials, the approved fee for large animals — including cows, bulls, and camels — has been fixed at Rs 4,000 per animal, while traders bringing goats and sheep will be charged Rs 3,000 per animal.

Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against anyone demanding charges beyond the official rates. A person accused of overcharging a livestock trader has already been arrested as part of the administration’s crackdown on illegal fee collection.

Monitoring teams have been deployed at cattle markets across Islamabad to ensure implementation of the approved fee structure. Traders and buyers have also been encouraged to immediately report any incidents of overcharging so authorities can take prompt action.

Officials said complaints related to excessive charges are being treated seriously, and field staff have been instructed to remain present at livestock markets during operational hours.

With Eid-ul-Azha approaching, thousands of buyers and sellers are expected to visit cattle markets in the federal capital. The administration says additional measures are also being taken to maintain order and facilitate traders at designated livestock markets throughout Islamabad.
