ISLAMABAD: The capital’s administration has once again enforced restrictions on business operating hours, mandating the closure of markets by 8pm across the city throughout the week.
According to a late-night notification issued by the district magistrate of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), all shops, markets, and shopping malls will now close at 8pm daily.
However, essential and food-related businesses have been granted extended hours. Restaurants, tandoors, grocery stores, bakeries, as well as meat, fruit, and vegetable vendors, will be allowed to remain open until 10pm.

The notification further stated that marriage halls, marquees, and other event venues hosting celebrations must also shut by 10pm. This restriction will apply to events held not only in commercial venues but also on private properties.
The revised operating hours come into effect from Monday and will remain in place until further notice, according to the official order.
