Islamabad Master Plan: Subcommittees to Analyze Civic Issues
Islamabad: According to news sources, the reconstituted commission for the revision of the master plan of Islamabad has formed eight subcommittees to examine various elements of the city’s ongoing problems.

Urban regeneration, transportation, climate change, health, education, mass transit, illegal building, environmental degradation, and encroachment will be investigated and resolved by the subcommittees.
In addition, a public opinion portal will be built to encourage greater public participation in the execution of the master plan. Before implementation, the final subcommittee recommendations will be made available to the general public.

A reformed commission was formed in August to study the master plan for Islamabad. The original plan, which was designed in the 1960s, was intended to be amended every two decades. However, subsequent administrations were unable to do so, resulting in only minor modifications.
Using the official Islamabad Cadastral, which Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan launched in September, the reconstituted group will analyze and amend the plan.
