Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul Freight Train Service to Improve Trade
Islamabad: According to the most recent reports, a freight train service connecting Pakistan, Iran, and Turkey was established on Tuesday (December 21) in an effort to increase trade.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood, and Minister for Railways Azam Khan Swati launched the train service. The launching event was attended by the Iranian, Uzbek, Turkish, and Kazakh ambassadors.
According to the specifics, the freight train service will improve the lives and economies of Economic Cooperation Organization member states. Additionally, it will increase economic efficiency while reducing business expenses.

Railways Minister Swati noted, in discussing the train service, that the freight train is a significant milestone in the history of Pakistan since it will offer new commercial prospects, improve regional connections, and boost international ties.
A senior railway official stated that the freight train will operate every week on Tuesday. The train will initially consist of nine wagons.
