The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved 37 commercial development projects in Islamabad after reviewing 42 proposals through its Design Waiting Committee.
According to reports, the CDA held seven meetings to assess the projects, while five proposals remain under review.
The approved schemes have a combined covered area of approximately 6.69 million square feet and are expected to add 721 new commercial developments to the federal capital, including 1,981 residential flats.
The approved projects comprise a mix of commercial buildings, apartment complexes and mixed-use developments, reflecting continued construction activity across Islamabad’s urban landscape.
In addition to commercial and residential developments, the CDA has also approved the construction of five mosques and a school building as part of the schemes.
Officials said the projects were approved in accordance with the ICT Building Control Regulations 2023, ensuring that the proposed developments meet the authority’s prescribed planning, design and construction standards.
The latest approvals are expected to contribute to the expansion of Islamabad’s commercial and residential infrastructure while increasing the availability of housing and business facilities in the capital.
