Islamabad’s IJP Road Under Construction at Fast Pace
Islamabad: According to media reports, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has disclosed that construction on I.J. Principal Road is proceeding rapidly. The National Logistics Cell (NLC) has begun piling work to restore I.J. Principal Road following the completion of soil tests at all four sites.

According to the specifications, the PKR 4.9 billion project involved resurfacing the road and adding two lanes for heavy traffic on either side. In addition, an interchange will be constructed at the intersection of 9th Avenue and Stadium Road, which is one of the busiest crossroads on I.J. Principal Road.
In addition, near the intersection of Faqir Aipee Road and I.J. Principal Road, a flyover will be constructed. At Katarian halt and near Sabzi Mandi in Pirwadai, two bridges will be constructed. The expected duration of the project is 18 months.
Two rigid lanes will be erected on each sides of the road for heavy traffic, according to a CDA official. Additionally, the officer said that the entire route between Faizabad and Peshawar Road will be rebuilt. In addition, it was stated that the I.J. Principal Road will be expanded to eight lanes.

Sabzi Mandi and Pirwadhai Bus Stand have transformed I.J. Principal Road into an interprovincial route. As it connects Islamabad and Rawalpindi, it is a significant route for heavy traffic coming from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Punjab.
It is important to note that the road was not intended for considerable traffic, as it was formerly a main road separating Sectors I and J.
