KARACHI: Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has inaugurated a newly rehabilitated dual carriageway in Block J, North Nazimabad, as part of ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure and local mobility in the city.

The 3,500-foot road project was completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 128.3 million. The upgraded route is intended to provide residents with improved road conditions and safer movement through the area.

The project involved rehabilitation and construction along the full road stretch, along with the addition of a paved shoulder to improve the overall condition and usability of the carriageway.

A 3,500-foot pedestrian footpath has also been developed alongside the road, providing a dedicated space for pedestrians and improving accessibility for people living and travelling in the surrounding neighbourhood.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mayor Wahab said the improvement of roads and essential civic infrastructure remains a priority for the city administration. He indicated that similar development initiatives would continue in different parts of Karachi.

Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentary Leader in the City Council Karamullah Waqasi, city council members, elected representatives and other officials attended the inauguration ceremony.

The completion of the project is expected to improve local connectivity in North Nazimabad while supporting safer movement for both motorists and pedestrians.
