Karachi to Get 100 BRT Buses from China
Karachi: According to a news source, the Orange and Green Line Bus Rapid Transit in Karachi has ordered 100 new buses from the Chinese bus manufacturer Zhongtong. By the end of August, the BRT project is anticipated to be fully operational.

Asad Umar, the Federal Minister for Planning and Development, noted in a tweet that the prototype bus was made specifically for the BRT project in China. They will start their production procedure when the prototype has been authorised. The minister stated the expectation that by July or August, 80 of these units will arrive in Pakistan and be added to the BRT fleet.
The 18-meter long buses will operate on the Orange and Green BRT projects, offering the city’s citizens a much-needed and high-quality transportation service.

The largest metro bus project being constructed with governmental assistance is the Green Line BRT project in Karachi. The initiative began in 2016, and when it is finished, it will provide assistance to more than 300,000 individuals everyday on average. With 25 stops and a total length of 24 km, the BRT line has 12.7 km of elevated, 10.9 km of grade-level, and 422 metres of subterranean track.
