Karak City Water Supply Project Approved
Rafiullah Afridi, deputy director of the public health engineering department, said that a project with an estimated cost of Rs720 million has been approved that will supply Karak City with clean drinking water from the Lawagher Dam.
Speaking to the media, he added that to satisfy the long-standing request of the residents of the district headquarters, 10,00,000 gallons of water would be provided to Karak city every day from Lawagher dam.

According to him, Karak City currently receives 2,000 gallons of water per second from the Zebi Dam, however much water was being lost due to rusting Tehsil Municipal Administration of Karak pipelines.
According to the official, the agency has set up the first-ever electric flow metre to monitor the amount of water provided to Karak city. The deputy director remembered that Karak city had five drinking water delivery schemes, but they had all either run dry or had become brackish.

He pointed out that two additional water reservoirs were now being built using MNA Shahid Khattak’s development funding, and that they will provide water to Karak city’s 8,000 residents. The official claimed that a 3 percent rise in monthly water bill recovery showed that people were receiving water.
