ISLAMABAD: Traffic arrangements around Kashmir Chowk have been revised as construction work for the new underpass affects movement along Club Road.

Islamabad Police has issued a traffic advisory for motorists using the area. Club Road will remain closed in both directions from 8:30am to 11:00am on October 6, 2026, due to the ongoing construction activity.

Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes during the closure. Traffic from the Secretariat and Serena Hotel towards Rawalpindi can use Srinagar Highway and 9th Avenue.

Those travelling from G-5, the Secretariat and Serena Hotel towards Rawalpindi can also use Srinagar Highway, Mira Abadi and Peshawar Road. Another option is to take the Lake View U-turn and continue through Murree Road and Club Road, subject to traffic conditions.

Motorists heading towards Rawal Dam Chowk, Park Road and Lehtrar Road can use Srinagar Highway, 7th Avenue, Shakarparian Road, Tulip Hotel and Rawal Dam Road.

Traffic travelling towards Murree and Bhara Kahu can use Faizabad, Faisal Avenue, Zero Point, the Srinagar Highway underpass, Jinnah Square and Koriyanwala Chowk before continuing towards their destinations.

Vehicles coming from Rawalpindi towards Islamabad have been advised to use 9th Avenue, Faqir Aipee Road and Srinagar Highway. Those travelling from Park Road and Lehtrar Road towards Islamabad can use Tulip Hotel Road, Garden Avenue and 7th Avenue.

Islamabad Police has also advised motorists to consider Srinagar Highway, Faisal Avenue and Jungle Track as alternative routes. Drivers are encouraged to follow traffic wardens and check official traffic updates before travelling through the affected area.

The temporary restrictions are linked to work on the Kashmir Chowk underpass. Traffic conditions may change as construction progresses, so motorists should allow additional travel time and use alternate routes where possible.
