KARACHI: The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) has approved a 25% concession on outstanding dues for owners of auctioned plots who settle their payments through a one-time payment.
The decision was made during the authority’s 1,200th governing body meeting held on October 21, 2026, with the development reported the following day. The concession aims to provide financial relief to eligible plot owners who have unpaid dues, although the authority has not yet disclosed the complete eligibility criteria or the deadline for availing the offer.

The discount is conditional on making a one-time payment and should not be considered applicable to all KDA properties. Owners are advised to obtain the official terms from the authority before making payments to confirm whether their plots qualify.
During the same meeting, the KDA governing body also approved an increase in departmental service charges. However, details about the revised rates and the services affected have not been provided.

The authority also reviewed plans to digitise land records, an initiative that could help improve property record management and make verification processes more transparent. Officials were further directed to remove encroachments from government plots before putting them up for auction.
These decisions form part of the KDA’s efforts to improve administrative procedures and manage public land more effectively. For property owners and prospective buyers in Karachi, the next important updates will include the formal notification of the 25% concession, revised service charges, and further details about land record digitisation and upcoming plot auctions.
