KMC Helpline to Address Civic Issues in Karachi to Be Functional
Karachi: According to news reports, the newly appointed Karachi Administrator Barrister Murtaza Wahab reinstated the defunct 1339 helpline of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) in order to handle citizens’ concerns regarding municipal issues. The hotline will be accessible for the first ten days of the month of Muharram.

Reportedly opened in 2017 by the then-mayor, the helpline was later deemed inoperative due to a lack of funds and resources.
Citizens of Karachi can now use the upgraded Citizens Complaints Information System Helpline 1339 to report sewage concerns, road potholes, malfunctioning street lights, and other municipal issues. The complaint will be forwarded to the relevant KMC departments by the representatives of the hotline.

Administrator Karachi Wahab stated that concerted efforts would be made to improve the city’s infrastructure through the application of past lessons. The helpline will also work closely with other civic organizations to improve cooperation and problem resolution.
