Koto Hydro Power Scheme to Be Finalized by December

Lower Dir: According to the assistant project director who briefed a team from the district administration, the Koto hydropower project (Koto-HPP), which is now under development, would be finished by December of this year.

The team recently paid a visit to the project site in this location. Members of the team included deputy commissioner Aun Haider Gondal, assistant commissioner Tahir Ali from Timergara, and other authorities.

Koto-HPP assistant director Mohammad Shuaib provided more information, stating that the power plant will produce 40.8MW of energy that would be added to the national grid.

The project’s work began in February 2015, and its contract called for it to be finished in February 2019.

The Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (Pedo) and GTZ Germany jointly identified the project in 1992.
