KP CM Promises Upcoming Budget to be Free of New Taxes
Mahmoud Khan, chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), stated that no new taxes will be imposed in the forthcoming budget, but modifications will be made to the existing levies.

At a news conference, he stated that despite the province’s challenging financial circumstances, no compromises will be made to the province’s development programmes, and government employees’ salary increases will be honoured. The daily wage has been doubled to $21,000, he added, and this will be implemented.
Khan stated that the provincial administration will consider offering a one-time exemption from provincial taxes to the taxpaying private sector employees in light of the current harsh economic climate.
During the press briefing, provincial finance minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra was also present. The “successful” merger of Ex-FATA with the province, according to Mahmood Khan, is a key accomplishment of the provincial government during its three-year mandate.

Mahmood Khan described the Sehat Card Plus programme as a hallmark initiative of the current provincial government and stated that such public-friendly programmes did not exist in the majority of developed nations.
