KP Land Use and Building Control Authority Act, 2021 Approved
According to news reports, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet passed the proposed KP Land Use and Building Control Authority Act, 2021 to prevent illegal construction on agricultural land and unplanned city growth.

According to the reports, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Information and Public Relations Kamran Khan Bangash claimed that this was the first legislation of its sort in the country. In addition, it was stated that the new legislation will assist curb the uncontrolled growth and commercialization of cities and save agricultural land.
Under this law, building control authority will be established, which will aid in the master planning and land utilisation of all districts. In addition, he stated that this bill will put a halt to unplanned expansion and beautify the cities.

The advisor to the CM, Kamran Khan, stated that the CM has instructed the relevant officials to present master plans for six cities at the first meeting of the KP building control body. The completion of master planning for 20 districts by December 2022 was mandated by Prime Minister Mahmood Khan. Cabinet has, in general, adopted the Public Properties Amendment Act of 2021, according to the special assistant to the prime minister, Bangash.
