Lakki Villagers Seek Rehabilitation of Roads
Residents of the distant Sherikhel hamlet in Lakki Marwat have voiced worry over the poor condition of rural roads and have requested that the province government allocate appropriate cash for the construction of new roads and the maintenance of existing ones.

The villagers stated that the construction of roads brought prosperity to a region, but the condition of the rural roads in Sherikhel, Wanda Faqeeran, and Umer Adda prevented their development. They requested that the government provide funds for the repair and rehabilitation of the roads in these areas.
Because the community of Sherikhel lacked a secondary school, according to a village elder, local students had to go to neighbouring regions to pursue secondary education.
Additionally, the people requested paved streets in Sherikhel and other rural regions. The deputy commissioner instructed the department heads to settle people’s issues and assure their prompt relief. He made it clear that any delay in providing services to citizens by government employees will not be tolerated.

In addition, deputy commissioner Abdul Haseeb presented Rs 500,000 checks to the heirs of Mohammad Gul, Abdul Hameed, and Jahangir Khan, who were killed by terrorists on January 20 near the district jail in Lakki city.
The financial help has been granted by the provincial government’s civilian victim support fund, he noted.
