Land Transfer Banned in Gujranwala’s Unapproved Housing Schemes
According to news sources, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gujranwala, Muhammad Sohail Khawaja, has ordered the Land Record and Revenue Department to cease issuing land mutations and ownership transfers of plots under 33 unapproved projects.

The decision was made at the request of the Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA), which cited the illegal allocation of plots without the relevant authorities’ no-objection certificate.
The verdict has halted the land transfer procedure in 33 unapproved societies and 256 sub-land divisions. A list of indicated housing projects and sub-land divisions has been sent to DC’s office in order to implement a total ban.

In another development, the district of Hafizabad has been awarded a development budget of PKR 3.86 billion. Various road construction and repair projects are included in the development projects to increase connectivity and traffic congestion.
The allotment will be announced during the provincial budget session, and building will commence shortly thereafter.
