Landfill Site Being Moved from Islamabad’s I-12 Finally
Islamabad: City managers have decided to move a landfill away from residential I-12 while 21 Ehsaas markets for cart vendors will be set up in various parts of the city.

Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials in a meeting decided to move the landfill away from I-12. It was also decided that this field would be developed.
Sources say four new proposed sites have been discussed and the matter will be presented to the CDA board for a final decision.
Proposed sites are in the Rawat area, Area IV, and one site in the H-16 and H-17 areas. “We have discussed four locations, now the council will make a decision. There are two problems:
an existing landfill is about to fill up as we begin development of the I-12 sites,” said a CDA director.

According to an official present at the meeting, 21 of these markets will be gradually established according to the model of the G-11 market. He said officials from the Ehsaas program, Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (Pide), CDA and MCI are working together to make the initiative a success.
