Late Tax Filers Will Appear on Atl After Paying a Fine
According to the Income Tax Act of 2001, a late filer’s name can only be added to the list of “active taxpayers” after paying a surcharge of Rs. 20,000 for businesses, Rs. 10,000 for associations of persons (AOPs), and Rs. 1,000 for individuals.

The law is fairly clear on the subject, according to tax experts, who advised the concerned officials that late filers and non-filers should get advice from tax counselors and consultants before filing their returns after the deadline to prevent difficulties. The law does not prohibit filing returns after the deadline of December 8, 2020.
According to the law, late filers are required to pay an additional fee under section 182A (return not filed by due date) of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 in order to avoid being listed on the ATL.

If the person pays a surcharge of Rs. 20,000 for a corporation, Rs. 10,000 for an association of people, and Rs. 1000 for an individual, they will be added to the list of active taxpayers when they file returns after the deadline.
