LDA Approves Rs. 88.6 Billion Development Budget for 2026–27

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) governing body has approved a budget of Rs. 88.613 billion for fiscal year 2026-27, with the authority setting a revenue target of Rs. 47 billion.

The governing body meeting was chaired by LDA Vice Chairman Mian Marghoob Ahmad, while LDA Director General Tahir Farooq briefed members on the agenda and proposed allocations.

Rs. 12.5 Billion Allocated for LDA City

Under the approved budget, the Punjab government will provide a Rs. 10 billion loan for structure-plan roads, while Rs. 6.3 billion has been allocated for schemes under the Annual Development Programme.

Major development allocations include:

  • Rs. 12.5 billion for development works in LDA City
  • Rs. 13.5 billion for sustainable development and urban regeneration
  • Rs. 4 billion for LDA Avenue 1
  • Rs. 3.5 billion for the Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA)

The allocations are expected to support infrastructure and urban development initiatives across Lahore.

LDA Approves Maintenance Charges Pilot Project

The governing body also approved amendments to the LDA Building and Zoning Regulations, 2019, along with a pilot project introducing maintenance charges and improved municipal services in selected LDA-developed areas.

The pilot will cover:

  • LDA Avenue 1
  • Jubilee Town
  • LDA Enclave

Services will include improved sanitation and other municipal facilities. According to the approved plan, the LDA will provide these services free of charge for the first two months before the maintenance-charge mechanism is implemented.

Proposed LDA Tech Park Near Arfa Karim Tower

The authority also approved plans for the development and marketing of commercial plots spread across 118 kanals along Ferozepur Road near Arfa Karim Tower for a proposed LDA Tech Park.

The project is intended to support commercial and technology-related development in the area and could contribute to Lahore’s growing business and technology ecosystem.

Rs. 100 Million for Child-Friendly Lahore

The LDA governing body further approved Rs. 100 million for initiatives aimed at making Lahore a more child-friendly city.

The initiatives will be carried out in collaboration with UNICEF and are expected to focus on improving the urban environment and services for children.

LDA Reports Record Revenue

During the meeting, officials also highlighted the authority’s financial performance during the previous fiscal year.

The LDA recorded Rs. 32 billion in revenue, marking the first time its annual revenue crossed the Rs. 30 billion threshold.

With an approved budget of Rs. 88.613 billion for 2026-27 and a revenue target of Rs. 47 billion, the LDA is now set to undertake a range of infrastructure, urban regeneration, commercial development, and municipal service initiatives across Lahore.
