LDA Confirms Forms for Road Infrastructure Projects
According to news reports, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has finalized the prequalification of contractors for two significant road development projects in the city.
In the following months, the authorities will initiate the development of roadways next to the Babu Sabu interchange and the dualization of the Burki Road-BRB canal road.
In addition, according to the authorities, seven companies have qualified for the PKR 400 million Burki Road infrastructure project, and four companies have qualified for the PKR 242.7 million Babu Sabu Road infrastructure project. During the current fiscal year, the LDA will start building on the project (FY 2021-22).
In other infrastructure development news, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited the Gulab Devi Underpass building site. Director General (DG) of the LDA Ahmad Aziz Tarar briefed him on the ongoing construction and informed him that the underpass would be completed by December.

He said that the contractor has completed excavation work for the underpass, and rehabilitation and road carpeting work will commence soon. According to the prime minister, the project is essential for alleviating the city’s traffic issues; therefore, rapid construction is required to finish the project on schedule.
