Lahore: Director General of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Tahir Farooq, visited LDA City on Sunday to assess ongoing development activities and directed officials to ensure the timely resolution of pending issues affecting the project’s progress.
During the visit, the LDA DG was accompanied by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) and the Chief Engineer of LDA. Senior officials from LDA City, including the Project Director and Director Land Acquisition, briefed him on the current development status, with a focus on work related to the LDA City Structure Plan Road and the planning of additional residential blocks within the scheme.
Officials informed the DG that development work is progressing in multiple phases across different sectors of the project, with construction and infrastructure activities continuing steadily.
Focus on Infrastructure and Public Facilities
The DG expressed satisfaction over the increasing pace of housing construction within LDA City and emphasized the need to ensure the availability of essential civic amenities for residents already residing in the area. He instructed concerned departments to accelerate development work and address all outstanding issues without delay.
Review of Land Acquisition Process
As part of his visit, the DG also inspected the land acquisition process in village Toor Warraich and reviewed operations at the One Window Cell established to facilitate citizens in handling land-related matters.
He interacted with visitors at the facility and inquired about the challenges they were facing. The DG assured them that the administration would provide full support to ensure smooth documentation processing and timely disbursement of payments, highlighting the importance of transparency and efficiency in land acquisition procedures.
Administrative Coordination and Citizen Facilitation
The LDA DG further directed that staff from both LDA City and the Revenue Department remain available at the One Window Cell during working hours to assist citizens and ensure prompt resolution of queries and applications.
Officials said the visit was aimed at strengthening inter-departmental coordination and accelerating the pace of development in LDA City, which remains one of the key housing and infrastructure projects under LDA’s supervision.
