LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has carried out a demolition operation against six unauthorised housing schemes along Sundar-Raiwind Road and Multan Road in Lahore, removing structures linked to developments that officials identified as illegal.
The operation targeted Mashallah Villas, an illegal subdivision near Mal Pind, Daman City, Maraka Marketing, Maraka Homes, Maraka City and New Lahore City.
According to LDA officials, enforcement teams demolished boundary walls, offices, roads and other structures associated with the schemes. The action forms part of the authority’s efforts to address unauthorised housing developments and prevent people from investing in projects that lack the required legal approvals.

LDA Continues Action Against Unapproved Developments
The authority has been conducting operations against illegal housing schemes and unauthorised commercial activities in Lahore. LDA officials said these measures aim to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and protect prospective property buyers from potential financial losses.
The Director General of the LDA stated that enforcement would continue against illegal developments and unauthorised commercial activities, adding that action would be taken without discrimination.
However, the available details do not specify the individual approval status of every scheme, the number of affected buyers or whether any regularisation options apply to the developments.
Why Housing Scheme Approval Matters
The operation highlights the importance of checking a housing project’s legal status before purchasing a plot or making an investment. Buyers should verify the approved layout plan, relevant permissions and the developer’s legal authority to market and sell plots.
They should also confirm that the project’s name and location match the official records, as similarly named developments may operate in different areas. Payment receipts, allotment documents and sale agreements should be retained for future reference.

Impact on Property Buyers and Developers
Demolition action can create uncertainty for people who have already invested in affected developments. Existing buyers should seek clarification from the relevant authority about the status of their plots, available legal remedies and any applicable procedures.
For developers and property dealers, the operation reinforces the need to obtain the necessary approvals before developing, advertising or selling a housing project.
The LDA’s latest action is part of its wider enforcement efforts in Lahore. Further updates from the authority will be important in clarifying the status of the affected schemes and any additional measures planned against unauthorised developments.
