Leopard sneaks into residential area of DHA-2 Islamabad
According to reliable reports, a leopard crept into the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) 2 residential area on Thursday evening and assaulted the occupants, injuring up to four people, including two Wild Life Department personnel. The arrival of the leopard in the neighbourhood caused widespread fear among the locals, who were frightened to see the wild cat in their streets.
In order to capture the huge cat, the DHA-2 officials quickly contacted Rescue 1122, the Wild Life Department, and the police.
The leopard swooped down on a woman who was walking by while it attacked a man who was sprinting on a footpath. After attacking two further Wild Life Department employees, the huge cat fled inside a building that was still under construction when people began to shout at it.
The Wild Life Department claimed that the injured people were taken directly to a hospital for treatment. While this was going on, the police and the DHA-2 administration issued statements over the loudspeakers asking people to stay inside. Moreover, AC Rural Zukharaf issued a warning to residents to stay inside after a leopard snuck into a DHA-2 residential neighbourhood. He claimed that officials from the Wild Life Department and the Islamabad Capital Territory are attempting to cage the leopard.
He claimed that the wildlife department and officials of the ICT administration were looking for the animal.
The AC added that until the whereabouts of the beast could be found, parks and other places meant for recreation would remain closed.
