Lahore Grammar School (LGS) has reportedly begun conducting examinations from June 1 despite the Punjab government’s directive ordering schools to remain closed during summer vacations.

The Punjab government had announced summer holidays from May 22 to August 24 in response to rising temperatures and heatwave concerns across the province. The decision was aimed at protecting students and staff from extreme weather conditions.

According to reports, LGS instructed students to appear for examinations starting Monday, June 1, raising fresh concerns among parents and students regarding compliance with the government’s closure orders.

This is not the first controversy involving the school during the summer break. Earlier, students alleged that LGS continued holding classes despite the official vacation schedule announced by the provincial authorities.

The school also faced criticism after reports claimed that students were asked to attend examinations in plain clothes during the holiday period, allegedly to avoid attracting public attention.

The latest reports suggest that examination activities have continued despite previous public scrutiny and concerns raised over the school’s actions.

Parents and students have questioned the decision, arguing that the government-imposed summer vacations were introduced primarily to safeguard children from severe heat and related health risks.

The matter is likely to draw further attention as authorities continue monitoring compliance with the summer closure directives across Punjab.
