Link Road, Flyover Projects Being Executed
Gujrat: The land revenue department has started the land acquisition process for the six-kilometer industrial area link road as well as the construction of a flyover over a railroad track near Servis Mor along the old GT Road.

The government has allocated about Rs 100 million of the Rs 154 million that will be needed to purchase the land for both projects.
According to the design, the 0.75-kilometer flyover will begin just in front of Swedish College along the old GT Road, cross over the railroad tracks, and end up close to the bypass for the GT Road, where a six-kilometer industrial area connection road will be built.
The proposed location for phase 2 of the industrial area will be connected to the city’s old GT Road and Gujrat bypass by the aforementioned road, which will be dual carriageway. The currently under construction 30-kilometer Samman-Dinga Road will also be connected to the aforementioned route keeping in mind the needs of the business activities in the industrial area.
The single track flyover is expected to cost Rs 717 million, according to an official estimate, while the industrial area connecting the road is expected to cost Rs 1 billion.

It is claimed that the technical bid for the flyover project has already been authorized and it is now in the phase of opening the tenders whereas the contract of link road building has also been awarded to a contractor firm that may commence the execution by the following month.
