LWMC Presents Mobile App for Checking Garbage
Lahore: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has released a smartphone application to digitally monitor the city’s rubbish heaps to promote efficiency, transparency, and control.

Under the pilot project, an android application titled “Digital Monitoring of Hotspot Areas” was made available to all union councils in Data Ganj Bakhsh and Samanabad.
In addition, this application will geofence the hotspot regions of the union council and push the data containing (hotspot category such as container point/open plot/open heap with current image) to the LWMC data center.
Digital Monitoring App displays a list of all hotspot zones on the dashboard, along with the state of UCs (attended, unattended, and in progress).

The application would help the LWMC ensure better quality control, check and improve service delivery, generate alerts for long-term unattended hotspot areas, monitor field staff performance, and bring about a noticeable change in the waste collection process, identify loopholes, and provide data for analysis.
