M-14, Huge Success on CPEC Western Route
Gwadar: The completion of the Hakla-DI Khan Motorway was a tremendous achievement for the Western Route of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The new route would provide communities with swift connectivity. It will also pave the way for preparing the quickest route for the movement of logistics between the Chinese province of Xinjiang and Gwadar Port.

According to the sources, the obligatory government had committed to construct the Western Route in addition to CPEC projects on a critical basis. This will expedite efforts in other fields, such as industry, clean energy, and agriculture. The government is also eager to complete other road projects on the western alignment, particularly the D.I. Khan-Zhob and Zhob-Quetta routes, in order to reduce travel time between the federal capital and Quetta.

Recently, the National High Authority unsealed the Western Corridor segment of Hakla-D I Khan Motorway. There are 11 interchanges, 36 bridges, 119 underpasses, 33 flyovers, and 398 culverts along the 292.5-kilometer four-lane highway.
According to reports, the CPEC Authority indicated that the initial cost estimate for the project that was initiated in 2016 by the PML-N administration was approximately Rs110 billion, but that the present government completed the project at a cost of Rs81 billion.
