Major Work on CPEC Projects Done by PTI Government
Asad Umar, Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives in Islamabad, refuted the perception of a slowdown in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects by stating that the majority of the CPEC projects were finished under the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) administration.

In addition, he stated that another 1824 MW project had recently begun construction and would be completed after the term of the current government.
In the infrastructure and road sector, the minister disclosed that the PML-N government built 394 kilometers of motorways and highways under CPEC, whereas the current government has finished 413 kilometers.
Aside from these two projects, the previous administration was unable to even reach the preliminary approval stage for the Western alignment road projects, he continued.

Similarly, the contractor for the Zhob-Queta project had been mobilized and PC-1 of the Quetta-Khuzdar route had been approved, while financing had already been provided for this project in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2021-22.
The minister stated that these connecting roads and the Western Alignment were being constructed to maximize the potential that would become available in Afghanistan once peace and security prevailed.
