Manufacturers Lament Costly PVC Raw Material
Karachi: Producers are dissatisfied that the cost of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) raw material has not decreased despite a decline in the value of the dollar.

While speaking to the concerned officials, Mehran Commercial Enterprise Director of Export Mashood Ali Khan stated that importers had not decreased the costs of PVC raw material despite the rupee strengthening from roughly Rs 164 to less than Rs 153 to a dollar.
PVC prices have increased recently despite its widespread use in sewer lines, water pipes, floors, windows, and many other products.
Khan claimed that they wouldn’t be able to lower rates for end users until raw materials become more affordable.

In the meantime, Sunny Kumar, a Topline Research analyst, believed that PVC costs were rising globally in terms of dollars.
He stated that the price of ethylene, the primary component of PVC, was also rising on the international market.
