Shabqadar Being Shifted to Mohmand Economic Zone
According to media reports, Peshawar and Shabqadar marble units will be relocated to the Mohmand Economic Zone in December 2020 on the orders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmoud Khan.

In addition, the decision to relocate the marble units was made to address the environmental pollution problems caused by the city’s marble industry. The Mohmand Economic Zone will allot 184 plots per acre to each of the marble units, according to the additional information provided.
The government has allocated per-acre plots at a price of PKR 10 million on an instalment plan, as was revealed. The owners must pay PKR 3 million at the time of relocation, with the balance due in instalments.
The CEO of KPEZMDC disclosed that the marble industry receives a lower rate than other industries. He continued by stating that the high construction costs in the Mohmand district are due to its mountainous terrain.
In addition, it was revealed that the government spent PKR 1.4 billion on the construction of Mohmand Economic Zone in order to develop it as a state-of-the-art facility for industries where security, water, internet, and electricity are available 24/7.
