Meeting Called by Punjab Government to Review Lahore’s Projects
Lahore: According to the most recent news sources, the Punjab government has scheduled a second ministerial committee meeting to review and discuss a number of large-scale development projects in Lahore. Five development projects, including the building of the Gulberg Elevated Expressway, will have their financial models and ideas discussed.
The committee would receive an update on the PKR 54 billion ideas and financing plan for the Elevated Expressway project, including the project’s borrowing from the Bank of Punjab (BOP). There will also be the formation of a subcommittee to secure the land needed for the project. The subcommittee would be in charge of resolving the issues and complaints of the project’s affected parties, according to the sources.

It is important to note that the Gulberg Elevated Expressway project’s development work was started in 2015 but stopped owing to budgetary constraints and the lack of financial partners. Usman Buzdar, the chief minister of Punjab, just received the project for October 2021.
