Mega Projects Cost Rs 24 billion in Pipeline for Rawalpindi
In the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2021-2021 (FY22), the Punjab government has allocated Rs 24 billion for many huge projects in Rawalpindi, according to officials.
The provincial government would allocate 16 billion rupees for many mega-projects in the Rawalpindi area, including Ring Road, Daducha Dam, Kohsar University, a modern cemetery, and others specified in legislative recommendations.

In addition, the Punjab government will provide 8 billion rupees for the development of Murree.
According to the specifics, the Ring Road project will now be developed from GT Road to the Thalian motorway, which was the route designated when Shahbaz Sharif was chief minister of Punjab.
The project would be implemented through a public-private partnership (PPP), with the Punjab Ring Road Authority (PRRA) serving as the project’s executive agency.
Similarly, the government will reserve cash in the fiscal budget for the Daducha dam, which is projected to cost over Rs 5 billion.

The monies will also be used to construct a modern cemetery on 2,000 kanals of state-owned property in the garrison city. A 57-kilometer gas supply line will be erected in Murree, and a 38-kilometer line will be installed in Rawalpindi, according to sources.
