Mega-Scheme for Karachi: Sindh Government Releases Rs 1.5Bn
The Government of Sindh has released Rs 157.8 crore by the end of the first week of May, led by Mega Project Karachi, against the total allocation of Rs 1.94 crore in this fiscal year’s budget.

The utilization of funds totaled Rs 1098 crore, representing 57% of the total allocation and 70% of the amount released so far.
The latest figures from state governments suggest that the released amount accounts for 81% of the total quota.

Budget allocations were low given the city’s population, but after no utilization in the first quarter of the fiscal year, utilization picked up in the second and third quarters.
The Government of Sindh’s Budget Execution Report for this period stated that 18 ongoing development programs (projects approved in the previous budget) were allocated a total of Rs. It indicated that 9 million rupees was allocated for the new program.
