Punjab Mass Transport Authority Resumed Metro Bus Service
Punjab Mass Transport Authority (PMTA) has decided to resume the metro bus service between Rawalpindi and Islamabad as of Wednesday, after being suspended for a week (today).

Shamila Mohsin, Manager (Operations) of the PMTA Rawalpindi-Islamabad, informed the appropriate officials that the bus service between Saddar (Rawalpindi) and the Pakistan Secretariat will begin on Wednesday.
Due to the third wave of Covid-19, the service from Saddar to Faizabad was halted on March 31. It then resumed from I.J. Principal Road to the Pakistan Secretariat.

However, on April 12, the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), a banned organization, protested in the bus stations of the twin towns of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, causing the service to be totally discontinued.
According to Ms. Mohsin, the PMTA was struggling because it was no longer receiving revenue from customers. “We will start the bus service on the advise of the local administration as the bus depot was in custody of Islamabad and Rawalpindi administrations and it was sealed,” she said.
