Mini Hydro Projects Initiated in Chitral Valley
Taj Muhammad, the chief minister’s special assistant for energy and power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), officially opened 11 mini hydro power (MMHPs) stations in Chitral, according to press reports. These stations have a combined generation capacity of 1.7MW.

4,000 homes in the valley will be able to be powered by the inexpensive hydroelectric energy. According to the information provided, one MMPH is in Sheshi Valley, five are in Garam Chashma, and five are in Kalash Valley.
The hydroelectric projects, according to the minister, will improve community economic standing while also promoting literacy and the development of the health sector.

Engineer Mohammad Naeem Khan, CEO of the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO), gave Mr. Taj a presentation on the 4.2 MW Reshun HPP and the 69 MW Lawi Hydro Power Plant of the PEDO.
According to the minister, the projects will be finished shortly to accommodate the Chitral valley’s increasing needs. He added that phase II of the ongoing project will include the construction of additional MMPH.
