Mobilink Bank, in collaboration with JazzCash, has launched the Chaklala Scheme-III Cashless Bazaar in Rawalpindi, bringing around 900 shops and carts into the digital payments network. The initiative supports the Prime Minister’s vision of a cashless economy, backed by the State Bank of Pakistan.

The launch ceremony was attended by Brigadier Syed Ali Anjum, Station Commander Rawalpindi, along with Rizwan Khaleel Shamsi from the State Bank of Pakistan and Atta ur Rehman, Chief Business Officer of Mobilink Bank. Senior representatives from both Mobilink Bank and JazzCash, as well as local traders and community members, were also present.

A key feature of the project is the use of Raast-enabled QR codes, allowing shopkeepers to receive instant and secure payments directly through mobile wallets. This reduces reliance on cash and makes transactions faster and more convenient for customers.

As part of the initiative, Mobilink Bank will open Business Plus accounts for merchants and offer additional services such as health and fire insurance, SME financing, and support for solar and electric vehicle solutions.

Mobilink Bank President and CEO Haaris M. Chaudhary said the goal is to bring everyday marketplaces into the digital economy, making financial systems more secure and inclusive. Meanwhile, JazzCash CEO Murtaza Ali highlighted that digitizing bazaars is essential, as they handle a large share of daily transactions across Pakistan.

The Chaklala Scheme-III Cashless Bazaar is being seen as a model for expanding digital payments nationwide, combining government support with fintech solutions to promote financial inclusion and move closer to a fully cashless economy.
