MoF Commits RS 47 Billion Non-Development Budget for GB
Islamabad: In contrast to the regional government’s proposal for Rs 60 billion for the non-development budget for the upcoming fiscal year, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) has agreed to giving Rs 47 billion to the Gilgit Baltistan (GB) government (FY22).

The regional administration had asked for funding to cover administrative costs, personnel costs, staff promotions, and other non-development costs.
Recall that in FY21, against a requisition for Rs 44.8 billion, the federal government authorised Rs 32 billion for Great Britain’s non-development budget.
Javed Manwa claims that the centre and regional governments were working on a historic development budget of over Rs 100 billion, which comprises Rs 74 billion for the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) development fund and Rs 25 billion for the Annual Development Plan (ADP).

Shaukat Tarin reportedly added that the government plans to carry out a number of initiatives for the development of hydropower, improving tourism connections, imparting vocational training, and awarding scholarships for the young under the GB Development Package.
