Multi-Billion Project for Rural Belt Approved by CDA
Islamabad: According to the most recent news reports, the federal capital’s Capital Development Authority (CDA) has created a PC-I for work on development in rural areas. The project will receive a budget of Rs. 10 billion, which the Development Working Party will finalise (DWP).

In a press conference, CDA Chairman Noorul Amin Mengal provided information about the project and declared that the developments in federal rural areas would “end the urban-rural divide”. He continued by saying that there had been discussions about whether the civic organisation could implement uplift initiatives in Islamabad’s rural regions. We came to the conclusion that the CDA could do so because it grants NOCs for housing societies and also collects other taxes, the official said.
The project’s completion will take two years, according to the information provided. Every development will follow the goals for rural development outlined in the long-term plan. The developments will include the essential infrastructure facilities needed in rural areas, such as roads, clean drinking water, paved streets, and other necessities.

The PC-I stated, “In most of the rural areas… water flows in existing kutcha (unpaved) streets which creates unhygienic situation/pollution in the locality; similarly, the existing roads, water supply, street pavement, and sanitation system are in dismal conditions and require immediate repair. According to CDA officials, the project will provide nearly 700,000 rural residents with basic amenities like clean water, effective communication, and sanitation.
