Punjab Announces Unexpected Public Holiday
The Punjab government has declared March 11 (Saturday) a public holiday in Lahore to commemorate Madhu Lal Hussain’s urs.

The Lahore District will be closed to business on this day, according to a notification from the Punjab Home Department.
The occasion is set aside particularly to honour the urs. In addition, March 11 will see a holiday for all educational institutions.

The poet and Sufi saint Madhu Lal Hussain lived in Lahore, which is now in modern-day Pakistan, in the sixteenth century. Both Muslims and Hindus in the area revere him because he is widely considered as a symbol of love and religious tolerance.
The message of Madhu Lal Hussain was one of love for all people. His teachings placed a strong emphasis on the value of inner purity and spiritual enlightenment, and he is claimed to have led a straightforward and humble life.
