The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has approved a new facility allowing citizens to obtain land ownership records, commonly known as fards, through NADRA e-Sahulat centres across the province.
Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi gave in-principle approval for the initiative while chairing a meeting on reforms in the Revenue Department. He directed officials to launch the service next week to ensure citizens can access the facility without delay.
Under the new system, people will be able to obtain land fards from NADRA e-Sahulat centres in addition to the existing service delivery centres operated by the Revenue Department.
The chief minister said the initiative would reduce the time, cost, and inconvenience associated with visiting government offices to obtain land records.
“We believe in people-friendly governance. Providing facilities at the doorstep is our priority,” Afridi said, adding that the new system would improve transparency, convenience, and public access to government services.
Land-Related Payments to Go Cashless
Officials informed the meeting that payments for government fees and other charges associated with obtaining land fards will be made completely cashless under the new arrangement.
The move is expected to make the process more transparent while reducing reliance on cash transactions at service centres.
Land Acquisition Bill 2026 Reviewed
The meeting also reviewed the draft Land Acquisition Bill 2026.
CM Afridi directed officials to incorporate specific provisions aimed at preventing unnecessary delays in the land acquisition process. He instructed the authorities to finalize the proposed legislation at the earliest and submit it to the relevant forums for approval.
The new land-record service is part of the provincial government’s broader efforts to improve public access to government services and make revenue-related processes more convenient for citizens.
