Nagar to be Made Eco-Friendly Tourist Destination
A clean and green Nagar initiative was launched in Gilgit in an effort to transform the district into an eco-friendly tourist destination.

The Nagar district in Gilgit-Baltistan is a popular tourist destination and is home to dozens of peaks, including Rakaposhi, Diran, Golden Peak, and the second-largest glacier in the world, Biafo.
Along the Karakoram Highway, three distinct, color-coded waste receptacles have been installed at the district’s primary public, tourist, and commercial areas.
Mr. Zulqarnain stated that it was the first project of its kind in the district to be entirely funded by local sources. He stated that the initiative was intended to make Nagar an eco-friendly tourist destination.

He requested that everyone, including tourists, utilise the garbage cans. Each tourist and local should contribute to the preservation of the area’s ecology.
Mr. Zulqarnain stated that the project would be implemented throughout the entire district.
