NHA Approves Award of Works for Lodhran-Multan Section
The National Highways Authority (NHA) Executive Board has approved the award of Rs 6.886 billion to M/s NXCC-NCC-MS JV (Joint Venture of M/s Ningxia Communication Construction Co Ltd – Nauman Construction Company Ltd – Muhammad Sajjad (Private) Ltd) for the construction of the Lodhran-Multan Section and two flyovers at railway crossings.

Captain Muhammad Khurram Agha (retired), Chairman, NHA, presided over the meeting of the NHA’s Executive Board.
The Board debated over the awarding of the Lodhran–Multan Section (North Bound 62 Km) of N-5 and the construction of two flyovers at Railway Crossings on the Lodhran Bypass.
The NHA Executive Board recommended awarding the contract to the lowest evaluated bidder, M/s NXCC-NCC-MS JV, at their evaluated bid price of Rs 6,886 billion, 26.03 percent less than the engineer’s estimate of Rs 9,306 billion.
The Board suggested the federalization of “major Astore valley road (Thallichi, Diamer to Shounter, Astore Section)” for National Highway Council approval and subsequent federal cabinet approval.

The Board further asked the NHA to bring the case to the attention of the AJ&K government in order to acquire NOC for the federalization of the remaining stretch of the route between Kel and Muzaffarabad.
The NHA Executive Board submitted to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council the “PC-I for construction of Balkasar-Mianwali Road (119 km)” at a cost of Rs 55,726 billion for approval (ECNEC).
